Departure and details of the route
The Sentiero dei Fiori starts from the Passo del Tonale, easily accessible by car, where you take the cable car to climb to the Passo Paradiso. Once you arrive at the shelter, with a coffee to recharge your batteries, the adventure begins. The path no.44 will guide you through a breathtaking landscape to the Passo del Dito, a panoramic point from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding peaks. The walk continues towards Punta di Castellaccio, where it is the perfect time to wear the ferrata kit and tackle the most technical part of the hike.
Between views and history
Continuing along the path of the Sentiero dei Fiori, you arrive at the Passo di Casamadre, where you can admire the “Gendarme”, a pinnacle of granite rock that emerges dominating in the alpine panorama. From here, the route continues to the Corno di Casamadre and then the Corno di Lago Scuro, another spectacular point that will give you unique views.
The journey ends at the Dark Lake Bivouac, where you will be in front of an extraordinary view. From here, a descent will take you to the Cima Presena, where you can take the cable car back to the Rifugio Passo Paradiso and then descend into the valley.

As the route includes sections of via ferrata, it is essential to wear the equipment for ferrata, composed of helmet, harness, longe and gloves. Make sure you have sturdy trekking shoes and technical clothing, able to adapt to changes in temperature, in the mountains weather conditions can change quickly.
The best time to take the Tonale Flower Trail is between late spring and summer, when the trails are completely clear of snow and the temperatures are ideal for mountain activities. However, be prepared for the changing weather conditions that are common at high altitude.
